An important photograph of General Ernesto Della Croce (Chief of the Third Army Corps in Argentina) and some of his Troops in Argentina, taken in 1971, from the collection of Rodolfo A. Windhausen (1944-2013), the noted Argentine journalist, writer and musician (this photograph came out of his estate in Miami, Florida, and I believe he is shown at far left of the image with the mustache). Condition is good, pretty clean. Inscribed verso with Windhausen's name and the year, title and bears a stamp from "La Gaceta" (La Gaceta is a daily newspaper founded in Tucumán, Argentina, and the most prominent in the Argentine Northwest). Buyer to pay shipping, good luck!

Rodolfo A. Windhausen (1944-2013) was raised in Argentina as a member of a prominent family and later (1978) came to America. He was a photographer and writer who wrote extensively for major American and international publications, including the Christian Science Monitor and United Press International, where he covered the United Nations. Windhausen also wrote important articles about Argentine political and military abuses, including the extra-judicial killings of its citizens. On a lighter note, he also participated in the Tango scene for more than forty years. He was born into a family that loved Tango, and his father, while in Germany in 1930, arranged the premiere of Enrique Santos Discépolo's famous Tango, 'Yira Yira', first performed in Berlin by Juan Llosas' Orchestra.
