The method of application is simple. The cement is thoroughly stirred and a sizing coat of Grippax cement is applied to the face of the bob, which is then allowed to dry normally overnight, or may be heated in a well ventilated stove for an hour at a temperature not exceeding 62°C (145°F). When the sizing coat is dry, the wheel is dressed by applying a second coating of Grippax cement. It is then pressed into the abrasive until the required coating is obtained, and is afterwards put away to dry. A second coat, if necessary, may be applied in the same manner.
Old bobs or wheels that have previously been dressed with skin glue must have all traces of the original glue removed before Grippax is applied, and must also be free from grease.
