HP NX6110 Laptop computer, customized for Windows 98. Could make a great DOS gaming machine, industrial controller, CNC mill controller, for embroidery or any other use where Windows 98 is preferred or necessary.
*Many of these have some screen blemishes mainly around the edges but work great and are fully usable.
These are quite unique & some of the
newest possible
systems you can get for Windows 98! They utilize hard to find special
drivers & customizations to run 98 on an Intel 915 series chipset,
which is normally not possible. The result however is a nice, VERY fast,
newer system with good graphics for Windows 98!
Great condition overall, cleaned and tested
thoroughly
to be full working order. (Please note it will not be factory brand new
clean although I do my best to meticulously clean each one, this is an
old computer! Also there may be typical wear and tear on the outer case, possibly a sticker or two although I usually try to remove them.)
Everything
inspected, no bulging
capacitors or other signs of failure and all fans sound great!
Surprisingly the batteries on some of these actually work. Luck of the draw, you may or may not get a working battery. (They still work fine plugged in regardless. If any have seriously damaged batteries I may remove or disable the battery.) Comes with genuine original HP charger/adapter.
Windows
98SE installed. Universal USB
drivers also installed and work great for many things. (Can use most
flash drives &
some other devices,
very nice to have. Have used various flash drives and on
every one the wizard came up and default driver loaded it up.) Also
Direct X 9.0c and pretty much every patch & update possible for 98.
*The specs on these seem to all be the same but may vary slightly.
Intel Pentium 4/Mobile processors. 1.73Ghz each. (These mobile processors are regarded as slightly better than a standard Pentium 4 and also better on heat.)
Has 2 USB, Firewire, VGA out, ethernet, & audio
connections plus PCMCIA slots.
Optical drives appear to all be DVD/CD drives.
Intel 915 Main chipset
Intel 915 integrated onboard video with 8mb video memory (Currently set to 1024x768 resolution at full 32bit True color!)
Soundmax Integrated audio
512mb of memory! (Pass memtest)
40GB IDE hard drive!! (quality drives, fully tested, no bad
sectors.)
Broadcom ethernet
*Phone modem not installed. Also physically has an Intel wifi card present, couldn't find working drivers for it.
Could
make a great system for CNC, Embroidery, Machining, Printing, or possible old gaming (with sound card)
etc. Highly compatible.
Really nice system, running good with no problems & on some of the latest hardware you'll ever find with 98 on it!
**Only a few minor quirks known on these, the video driver works well in Windows through all testing & also when bringing up a DOS prompt in Windows as well. There is an effect you can see in one of the pictures at the load screen but this does not affect anything. If the display doctor software comes up on boot, simply close or minimize. If you wish to change the resolution do so through the regular Windows settings rather than through display doctor. Do not push the "adjustments" button in the display doctor software, it may throw an error, pushing enter will bring it back usually though. Probably best to not mess with the video settings other than resolution if desired. All other operations seem to be buttery smooth & works very well overall.
Many have original XP Pro COA sticker.
