Cuzco School is an artistic tradition that was centered in Cuzco between the 17th and 18th centuries, after the Spanish conquest in Peru (1533).
It's considered as "The first organized artistic centre in the world". It is characterized by originality and artistic value.
It's was the result of the influence of European Classical culture and the desire of indigenous creoles and mestizos painters, to express their your reality and vision in sacred art with performing religious images.
The red, yellow and earth colors were predominant. They also used large amount of gold leaf, especially in Virgin Mary pictures.
