An original antique town plan of PLYMOUTH by Tallis & Rapkin. The plan is steel engraved, hand coloured and highly decorative. It features vignettes of Plymouth Sound, the Column, the waterfront and an ornate border. The plan is unframed and unmounted and measures approximately 350x240mm. Prominent on the map are the dockyards, the Citadel and the early rail network. Tallis's town plan are relatively uncommon. Apart from trimming with some small loss to the decorative left and right borders, the map is in very good condition.
