About this book:
Robert Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Earl of Lytton (1831-1891) was an English poet and statesman.  He served as Viceroy of India from 1876 to 1880.  As a young man he published his first poetry under the name Owen Meredith.  Lucile, a story in verse first published in 1860, was his most popular work. It went through hundreds of editions by numerous publishers.  He enjoyed extreme popularity in his day, though his works are not much read today.  Oscar Wilde dedicated Lady Windemere’s Fan to him.

Over the period from 1876 to 1931 Crowell released something in the neighborhood of 200 binding variants of the extremely popular Lucile.
