They can be used as a direct replacement for original studs or an upgrade from the bolts which are sometimes used and difficult to work with. 

They also come with the pre-machined hexagon in the stud so they are easy to fit and remove if needed

Always apply a small amount of suitable anti-seize grease to all mating threads
