Kyoto is a magnificent example of the Japanese decorative arts. Three
embroidered butterflies fly across modern lines made of platinum and paper. The
colorful silk-embroidered and platinum decoration appears on the front of the
fan while the back showcases the elegant cut-out pattern of the paper.

This kyo-uchiwa fan was created by Aiba, an iconic fan compay founded in 1689 which manufactures fans for the Japan royal family.
Their fans typically celebrate the beauty of nature/the seasons. Aiba does not
sell or market their products in the United States. This fan is can be displayed on its wooden stand (included) or framed.
