What's it like being the firstborn son of a bloodthirsty emperor whose empire encompasses more than a thousand kingdoms, scattered over a hundred worlds? Poor little Pinocchio is suffering seriously divided loyalties between his father, the Adversary, and his fellow Fable refugees in the Mundy world. What does he do while his father hosts a secret conference of the imperial elite to decide the ultimate fate of Fabletown? Plus, this issue contains the first of four short self-contained backup stories featuring Rapunzel.
53. Geppetto's conference of imperial leaders continues in the Homelands as they discuss the ultimate fate of Fabletown. The Nome King wants war, Prince Hansel wants reprisals, and the Snow Queen wants a program of assassination. Will anyone argue for diplomacy? Plus, a backup story by Joshua Middleton!
54. Hansel has been selected by The Adversary to be his personal envoy to Fabletown. There's just one problem: Hansel is not a nice man. But someone has to free Baba Yaga and the captured Wooden Soldiers from the Woodland before the Empire's invasion of the mundy world can begin, and Hansel's just the Fable for the job!
55. The Homelands' conference is wrapping up and the drums of war are beginning to sound. It looks like insignificant Pinocchio is the only one who can stop it, if he can convince the others to stand down. If only Pinocchio didn't have the oratory skills of an underachieving cinderblock...
