Loretta Joe makes extraordinary Acoma Pottery. She has been making pottery since the age of 12. Her work is in countless museum and private collections including the Wheelwright Collection in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This particular work is an earlier piece. It is from the 1980's. Loretta Joe is known for her iconic imagery and whimsical graphic detail. The parrot is a classic example of Loretta's work that brought her work to the attention of experts and collectors. This wonderful piece measures 4.5 inches tall by 5 inches at the opening of the bowl which swells to just under 7 inches. It is outstanding from every angle and looks great alone or with a collection of Native American Pottery. It is being offered from our collection for the first time. A great find.
