This is for an original 1952 or 1953 magazine which was put
out by Sugar Ray Robinsons management, public relations and booking teams after
his first retirement from the ring following his 1952 fight with Joey Maxim.
The magazine even has a piece about Sugar Ray almost becoming the light
heavyweight champion of the world only to be beaten by the heat. An interesting
piece featuring background information, his management team, dance team members
and even Sugar Rays ring record up to and including his fight with Joey Maxim
on June 25 1952. After his 3 year layoff, Robinson would return to the ring for
another 62 fights until finally retiring for the final time in 1965. An
exceptionally rare item from the boxer voted as the greatest fighter of all
time.
