This is a fantastic work by the famed British Artist Margaret Mellis. She was a member of the highly regarded St. Ives school and was iconic like her colleague Ben Nicholson. This particular work was executed on an airmail envelope. Mellis was very concerned about form. And these envelopes were an inspirational discovery along with the work executed within the borders. They are simply beautiful and exemplify an artist who spent a life of constant reinvention of form and technique. And one can see from beginning to the very end why Margaret Mellis was so acclaimed. She was always her own person and influenced so many of todays modernists. This work has been shown in a number of museum exhibitions and Universities. It is being offered from our collecition of modernism for the first time. A great opportunity.
