You will be getting three cartridges of genuine unopened HP 940XL ink, one of each - magenta, cyan and yellow.  My printer was the OfficeJet Pro 8500A.  This ink is for the 8000 series and 8500 series OfficeJets.  They have expiration dates of Oct. & Dec. 2012.
