Original early 1900s "THE HESSLER" galvanized metal rural mailbox. Original chain, mounting bracket and stenciling on both sides and front.  Black stenciling is faint in spots, but can read.  Stenciled "THE HESSLER" on front of the mailbox and The H.E. Hessler Co. Syracuse, N.Y., Approved by Post Master General Oct. 11, 1902 on both sides of box.  Tube shaped design rounds at the bottom with a flip up lid.  One original chain remains.  From pictures of an original HESSLER add, it once held a metal or brass number tag.  The chain that is missing went on the bottom and top metal loops for locking the lid.  Original patina, never painted.  Wonderful original condition.  Measures 18"l x 7"w x 6.5"h.  Being sold in as found condition with some dirt, dust, minor dings, NO big dents of any kind, rust spots.  Please see pictures for complete condition.  Please feel free to ask questions or request additional pictures.  Shipping includes sturdy packaging and full insurance.  Remember antique and vintage finds have age wear etc., they are not perfect.  THANK YOU for viewing!  Payment by U.S. PAYPAL account holders only, within 3 days.  You must have a registered EBAY account and reside in the United States to purchase.
