Nickel free ankle bracelets are custom made with chains made of anodized aluminum, a permanent, irreversible chemical change to the outer (exposed) surface of the aluminum that will not crack, blister, or peel over time the way plating does.  Closing the bracelet involves pulling the straight bar through the circular ring, giving a higher level of security than lobster clasps.  Toggle clasps are made of Tibetan silver, a nickel free, zinc alloy resistant to tarnish, gold plated in the champagne and red versions and bronzed in the copper and gunmetal versions.  Red heart beads are clear red acrylic with aurora borealis (multi-color rainbow hues) plating; butterflies and smoky topaz heart are genuine faceted crystal.   Head pins are plated brass; accessory beads are silver or gold plated acrylic.

Aluminum chains make these anklets surprisingly light in weight and easy to wear in stacks.  I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANKLE MEASUREMENT BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER.  Either a measuring tape or string can give accurate measurement.  The 8 inch will accommodate ankles to 7-3/4 inches; 9 inch to 8-3/4 inches; 10 inch to 9-3/4 inches.  IF YOUR ANKLE DOES NOT FALL INTO ONE OF THESE THREE SIZES, PLEASE INDICATE MEASUREMENT AT TIME OF CHECKOUT and I will add 1/2 inch for proper drape below the ankle bone unless you specify otherwise.  I have accommodated ankles from 7 to 11 inches and will be happy to fit you.

Please note that aluminum is softer than steel.  The links in an aluminum chain may bend open if you wear your ankle bracelet for sports or athletic events, or give them to children.  I use aluminum because its non-allergenic and the color is lasting.  Aluminum will not rust or cause skin rash or irritation as plated steel can, especially if exposed to moisture or perspiration.
