Engine Serial Number Location: The complete engine serial number is stamped on a pad on the side of the cylinder block. For units built prior to model year 2000 the location was on the left hand side of the block just below the cylinder head to block parting line. For model year 2000 and newer units the serial location was moved to the right side of the cylinder block between the oil cooler and top of the block.
Emission Label: The emission label is located on the top of the rocker cover (valve cover) or intake manifold. The engine model, model year, horsepower rating and torque rating can be obtained from this label.
