Batia Magal’s work has taken various paths constantly evolving along the way. Her works encapsulate a very personal and feminine statement. Her simple calligraphic drawing of the female form or a flower-filled vase is the foundation of her personal style that she puts into her work. To these the brilliant washes of lively colors act as a counterpoint, with the deeper and warmer hues evoking the luminosity of medieval stained-glass windows.
Batia Magal was born in Israel in 1953, and at a very young age showed a remarkable talent for drawing and had a thriving passion for art. Magal attended the ‘Avni Art Institute’, where she was influenced by such well-known artists as Streichman and Wexler.
