This tremendous pencil sketch of Ray Bolger is from his days on Broadway long before the “Wizard of Oz”. The costume and poses reprise his role of “Sapiens” in “By Jupiter”. It was drawn by Artist D.A. Ahrens in pencil on paper and it (the drawing) measures 13” by 17”. Framed it is 22 1/2” by 18”. Further, it is signed by both the artist and Mr. Bolger. It is also dated 1942. The drawing is in excellent condition with slight yellowing of the paper. It was framed for conservation with UV glass and acid free matt and backing. It is a wonderful piece for a collector.
