Antique Set of 4 Hand Decorated J.Blancher Touze.& Co 9 1/2" Cabinet Plates.  No chips, cracks, or crazing. There is extensive wear to gilt around the rim border(s). Set has been priced accordingly. Center images transferred. The J.B.T. & Co mark was used 1901-1913 and is an early logo of a company known later as TOUZE,LEMAITRE FRERES & BLANCHER. Their operations were interrupted during WWI then reopened in 1918 adopting the simpler T.L.B. initials.   J. Ernest Blancher was a famous master enamelist in Limoges & Paris These were images originally painted by a different artisan, Vicos, probably an employee at the company during that time but certainly supervised by J. E. Blancher. The LRL(Importers) mark dates from 1922 and was plausibly added after having acquired inventory from a wholesaler who had previously purchased the plates. Both marks have been verified courtesy Marks4Antiques.com. Please contact for additional pictures or information.
