** Parting out a 1974 Buick Electra 225 Limited Coupe, What do you need? **

DETOUR!  I am a 1971-76 Cadillac parts specialist who loves 1971-76 Buicks as well.  I came across two very excellent Buick parts cars recently (1974 Electra Limited Coupe and 1975 LeSabre Sedan) and grabbed a lot of great parts.  The 1974 Electra had a mere 66K small-rural-town miles on it...the parts in this auction are from that car.  

DISCLAIMER: I will do my best to offer LIKELY interchange but do your research before buying.  I consider myself a Cadillac expert, but not a Buick one. :-)

THIS AUCTION:  Steering Wheel Shroud Adapter Kit for Tilt / Tele Steering Columns

DONOR VEHICLE:  1974 Buick Electra Limited Coupe, 66K miles. 

YEARS IT MIGHT FIT:  1971-76 Buick / Olds / Chevrolet / Pontiac Full Sized Models with Tilt/Tele Steering Column

NOTE:  THIS ITEM IS FOR CARS WITH TILT/TELESCOPING STEERING COLUMNS.  IF YOU PLAN TO UPGRADE YOUR STANDARD COLUMN TO TILT/TELE, YOU WILL NEED THESE PARTS.

DETAILS ON THE PART:   The Tilt / Telescoping wheel is a great option for your 1970's GM car.  However, many of the Chevys, Pontiac and Oldsmobiles made at the time left the factory without this option.  I sell Tilt/Tele columns if you wish to change over from the standard one.  The parts in this auction are what you need to convert your existing steering wheel for use on the Tele column....you need a deeper/longer shroud to cover the exposed area of the steering column. This package included the deeper metal shroud  -- which you can paint to match your column.  It included the horn spring and plastic mount plate.  Lastly, it included the rear cover for the steering wheel - this one has a slot for the Tele lever.  This cover is the THREE SPOKE version, which is usually on the premium cars like Electras, Rivieras, Olds 98's, etc.  If you have a TWO spoke steering wheel, you will either need to get a 3 spoke wheel or try finding a 2 spoke rear cover (good luck) that has the Tele lever slot.

The parts are in fine shape....all of the screws are included.  Ready to repaint or redye, if needed, and then install...they are currently a 1974 Darker Tan-Brownish color.  There are some spots the factory plastic paint/dye has worn off to expose the standard black plastic underneath.  No damage to the parts though.  Not much more to say, they are trim parts, but essential ones!

Keep your expectations realistic...45 year old parts...some light but normal wear and tear to be expected even with a low use part.
