An original copperplate, engraved map of WESTMORLAND (A Mapp (sic) of the County of Westmorland), published in 1673 in Richard Blome's Britannia. The map is framed (460x380mm), mounted (printed area 310x240mm) and hand coloured. The verso is blank. This decorative map features includes a title cartouche, a scale, compass rose, and dedication (with coat-of-arms) to Sir John Lowther. The map has a wealth of geographical detail including rivers, mountains, lakes towns and villages, and is in excellent condition. NB The map will be sold out-of-frame to international buyers.
