An original antique map of HEREFORDSHIRE (Frugiferi comitatus..) by Saxton & Hole. First published in Camden's Britannia in 1607, this map is the 3rd (and final) edition of 1637, with plate number 34 and with verso blank. The map is uncoloured (as published) and mounted with a printed area of 310x285 mm. It features a strapwork title cartouche, mileage scale, map dividers, compass rose and the royal arms. One of the earliest printed maps of Herefordshire, the map shows in detail the county's towns, villages, rivers (e.g. Wye), hills (e.g. Malverns) and estates. The map has wide margins, is clean and clear impression and is in excellent condition. The map will be sold out-of-mount to international buyers.
