This listing is for a pre-civil war printing of "A Visit From St. Nicholas," dated 1853-1856. A rare printing, it features children's stories, articles, and letters from that era. The book measures approximately 6 x 8.5 inches. Construction is hardcover, cloth over boards with leather spine and corners. At 167 years old, it is in good condition. The leather shows splitting, mostly at the mid-spine and hinges. A leather consolidant was applied as a conservative measure. Pages are clean with light foxing. Inner hinges are secure and binding is tight. "A Visit from St. Nicholas" appears on page 174 of the book's final part. On consignment. Thanks for looking!
