Offered is an authentic vintage Starrett No. 224 Set C outside micrometer caliper, originally designed for measurements from 9 to 12 inches.
Manufactured by The L.S. Starrett Company of Athol, Massachusetts, USA, this impressive machinist measuring instrument features a large black open-frame design, precision micrometer adjustment, and interchangeable anvil system.
Includes the original wooden fitted storage case with Starrett identification plate and original manufacturer's instructional label inside the lid.

Vintage pre-owned condition.
The micrometer frame presents well overall, with visible surface wear and signs of previous use. Metal components have minor discoloration and age-related wear.
The original wooden storage case shows substantial cosmetic wear, including heavy scratches, finish loss, staining, edge wear, and marks consistent with many years of storage and handling.
The original Starrett manufacturer's label remains inside the lid.
IMPORTANT: INCOMPLETE SET
The factory label describes three interchangeable anvils and three measuring standards. Only two loose interchangeable anvil pieces are visible in the photographs, and the measuring standards and adjustment wrench are not present.
The micrometer has not been independently checked for measurement accuracy or calibration. Functional operation has not been verified.
