Stunning set of 4 vintage Japanese hand painted silk fans. My grandfather brought these back from Japan for my grandmother during his time stationed there in the Korean War in the early 1950s. One fan is large at over 13” long. There are two smaller ones that are identical at about 9” long. One fan is smaller at about 8.5” long. Please see all photos for details. The colors are amazing and bright just as if they were brand new. There is a note in two of the boxes that tells you how to add some perfume drops at the screw on the handle so you can smell the perfume while waving the fan. They all have their original boxes although they are pretty beat up. Super cool items and would be great for display or mixed into a gallery wall.
