Lot of two vintage original 1930s Japanese government railroad travel posters are printed on thin paper. They have faded black and white photos, one with a slightly brownish tone, and the other slightly blueish.
Size: 21" x 30 1/2"
One poster is labeled Kinkaku-ji, Kyoto and shows the Zen Buddhist temple also called Rokuon-ji. It has damage to the bottom corners and edges as shown.
The other shows the Toshogu Shrine in Nikko. It is in better condition.
Both posters have some minor foxing, which can be seen better on the back sides as shown, mostly along one vertical edge of each. There are minor paper handling dings and a few edge tears. Condition will be improved by some type of ironing or flattening/pressing process, to eliminate the undulations from being stored rolled, which we will leave to the buyer.
