MUSIC MAN 1978-1980 Stingray MOD / Electric Bass Guitar w/ Gig Case

Description

Condition: Used

This is a modified pre-Ernie Ball era StingRay bass that has undergone various alterations.
The neck is dated November 1978, and the body is dated January 1980. The volume and bass potentiometers are CTS units from 1976, while the treble potentiometer has been replaced.
It retains its original preamp, and the pickup appears to be a Seymour Duncan model.

The body wood has undergone significant modification (please refer to the images), indicating that this instrument has been subject to numerous specification changes over the years.
It has been carefully assembled using a thick shim, and the instrument has also been refretted and re-nutted, ensuring that it is currently well-set up.

The neck condition, truss rod functionality, and fret condition are all excellent, offering superb playability.
The sound is well-balanced, with a tonal center that is neither too high nor too low, and it possesses a pleasing, slightly aggressive character.

Weight: Approx. 4.62 kg
