Vietnam Era, J. Roe & Sons Demolition Charge Computing Tape; with Silver pullout tape on both sides.   This dates from 1960 as it was my husbands and he acquired it before 1970s.

Justus Roe & Sons Inc. (Patchogue, NY), which produced precision steel and specialized military tapes.

Unlike standard measuring tapes, this specialized tool features calculations and scales designed for military personnel to compute the amount of explosive charge required for field demolition. It also doubles as a standard steel scale measuring up to 72 inches.

Photos show all sides with strong engraving and very little wear.  Also the tape itself pulls out nicely and retracts nicely on both sides.
