Beautifully crafted, double-sided panoramic papier-mâché Easter egg diorama. This unique, artisan-made piece features an incredibly detailed nursery rhyme/toy theme inside and out. Includes a fully jointed micro plush teddy bear with posable arms and legs as well as a fixed, single-piece porcelain bisque miniature doll styled after classic antique "Frozen Charlotte" nursery dolls. Lined with cream mesh netting, delicate metallic lace ruffles, and miniature silk ribbon rosettes. Exterior is constructed from a durable pressed paper-mâché base covered in a textured cream finish, featuring a vintage decoupage print of a classic rocking horse on wheels framed by a beautiful ribbon-flower wreath. Top and bottom halves are connected with the lace trim which acts as a "hinge". Great vintage condition. The delicate interior fabrics, lace, netting, and miniatures are remarkably clean and free of staining, smoke odor, or yellowing. The exterior pain and ribbon work remain vibrant and intact. There is a spot of edge wear on the inner rim lip where the lid rests (visibly only when opened - See last photo, which is completely typical for vintage papier-mâché craft pieces and does not detract from its beauty or display value.
