This is for the 1966 Whitman Batman Card Game issued by Whitman Publishing Co. and National Periodical Publications during the first year of the Batman television series.
The game originally included 45 cards total, and this includes 44 cards total, including the title/cover card, the single Batman and Robin card, and the rule card. The only missing card is one Commissioner Gordon card (which is easily and cheaply replaceable), so the set is otherwise complete. NOTE: The three close-up hi-res scan images show cards that are also included in the group photographs; they are not additional duplicate cards. The close-up scans are to help you better see the condition of these specific cards.
Characters and subjects represented include Batman, Robin, Batman and Robin, Batplane, Batcopter, Batmobile, Joker, Cat Woman, Riddler, Penguin, Queen Bee, Eclipso, Calendar Man, Blockbuster, Mr. Zero, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred, Aunt Harriet, Policeman, Mayor, and Commissioner Gordon.
The cards are generally clean and attractive for their age, with some light handling wear. Some cards have light corner creasing, and some show light toning to the white areas from age. Please examine the photos closely for card condition. Also includes the original clear Whitman plastic storage box. The lid has cracking, and there is also a crack on the bottom of the case. Case has some surface dirt.
A scarce near-complete example of the 1966 Whitman Batman Card Game, missing only one readily replaceable Commissioner Gordon card.
