Exceptional vintage Chinese hostess/lounge pajama set dating approximately to the late 1930s-1940s. This set belonged to my mother (born in 1924), who preserved it carefully in a cedar chest for decades and considered it one of her special garments.
Stunning rose silk/silk blend jacquard fabric with deep blue contrasting trim, traditional frog closures, embroidered symbol pocket detail, matching pants, and original belt. Please note the true color is rose with blue. Color is uniform on both pieces. The lighting is off in a few photos.
The fabric quality is extraordinary with a fluid drape, luminous sheen, and intricate woven floral brocade throughout. Much finer than typical later souvenir garments.
