✨ Visual Description ✨
A gorgeous full-color, two-page advertisement for Tussy Cosmetics' "Golden Wonder," billed as "the first two-tone lipstick in captivity." The ad copy declares: "It's wild. It's wonderful. It's Tiger Tiger — the ultra-feline, slightly snarling new look for lips." The innovation is explained as a built-in lip liner molded directly into the lipstick: "a single stroke outlines lips with one color, fills in with another... before you needed a brush and at least two different lipsticks and lessons from a makeup master." Instructions for use are printed beneath the headline copy.
The right-hand page shows a model with an updo and bold 1960s eye makeup, her lips shaped with the two-tone effect, gazing toward the left page, where a tiger approaches a lineup of five gold lipstick applicators (one knocked over), each labeled with its shade name. The tagline reads: "The look is dangerous... it's Tiger Tiger!"
The reverse features two separate ads: one side continues an ad for Vanity Fair lingerie and bras, and the other features a fashion sketch advertisement for Norman Norell, illustrating a model in a feathered headpiece, available in Philadelphia. This spread is from pages 48–49.
