Studio Silversmiths made this lovely round chafing dish set, and the glass insert itself was crafted by Marinex in Brazil. Marinex is famous for their durable borosilicate glass, and they've been producing this type of ovenware since the 1960s. Based on the "Studio Silversmiths" branding and the Ridgewood, NY address on the box, this specific set most likely dates to the late 1980s or early 1990s. It’s a complete set that brings a nice bit of vintage charm to a holiday table or a brunch buffet.


​The set is in good pre-owned condition. It includes the ornate silver plated warming stand, the silver plated  lid with a decorative top, and  the original round glass casserole dish. It even still has the small glass holder for the tea light candle to keep your food warm.


​There is some minor filminess and tarnishing on the silver from age (mostly on underside of lid).  I haven't tried to deep-clean or polish it, so you can decide if you like that vintage patina or if you want to give it a quick shine with some silver cream. There is slight warpage ar shown in photo #13. The glass dish is in great shape with no chips or cracks. The stand is approximately 12.5" wide handle-to-handle and stands about 11" tall with the lid on. Nice! Thanks for looking!
