CONDITION

DESCRIPTION

An 18th century English Worcester porcelain teapot from the Dr Wall period, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and white. The rounded body is finely moulded with vertical fluting and enriched with floral and foliate borders around the shoulder and foot. It has a curved loop handle, elegant rising spout, and matching fluted domed cover with an applied flower bud finial. The underside bears an underglaze blue crescent mark associated with Worcester porcelain of the period. The combination of moulded form and restrained blue and white decoration gives the teapot a particularly attractive Georgian character.

Blue and white porcelain formed an important part of Worcester production during the Dr Wall period in the 18th century.
