Nitrocellulose Spray Varnish Nitorlack – Glossy or Matte Painting your guitar like a pro, without a gun or booth, is possible thanks to the nitrocellulose spray varnish developed by Nitorlack. Available in glossy (gloss) or matte (matte) finish, this varnish allows you to obtain a clean, uniform and durable finish, on par with the most beautiful vintage or modern finishes. Formulated especially for the world of guitar, this spray is ideal for applying the final layers of protection to a body, neck or ukulele, after a tint or nitrocellulose base. The choice between a glossy or matte varnish depends on your aesthetic preferences, but also on the style of guitar and the desired effect: ✨ Glossy finish (gloss) Ideal for a deep and luminous mirror finish, very popular on Les Paul, Strat, Tele type guitars or high-end acoustics. It highlights the grain of the wood and gives a “new” appearance. ?️ Matte finish (matte) More sober and contemporary, it offers a satin appearance which limits fingerprints. Perfect for modern style instruments or natural finishes. ? Tip: For a faithful vintage look or a high-end look, gloss remains the benchmark. For a soft feel and understated look, matte is a great choice. How many sprays do you need to varnish a guitar? It depends on the type of instrument and the desired result (mirror effect or “open pore”). Here are the average recommendations: INSTRUMENT UNDERCOAT FINISHING VARNISH Electric guitar neck / 2 sprays (matte or glossy) Electric guitar body 1 spray 3 sprays Acoustic or classical guitar 1 spray 4 to 5 sprays Ukulele / 2 sprays? If you are applying a tint between the base and the varnish, add 1 to 2 sprays of the chosen color. How to apply Nitorlack nitrocellulose spray varnish Shake the spray vigorously for 2 to 5 minutes. Apply from a distance of approximately 20 cm, in regular movements. Favor one dry and well-ventilated environment. Always apply a nitrocellulose primer and sand with 400 grit first.
