From the Weeden Site : The Number 14, manufactured from the late 1800's up to 1940, was Weeden's most popular engine. It has a six legged table style cast iron frame, a design shared with two other similar electrically heated models, the No.647 and No.648. The No.14's distinctive boiler, with the four rows of rivets, is heated with a rectangular shaped three wick burner. The engine may be reversed simply by stopping it and flipping the flywheel in the other direction. |
This antique live steam engine has been nicely restored. It is not perfect.
It has been air tested and performed well.
The (decorative) governor is a bit "hesitant" (video).
More than likely, some tweaking will be necessary to operate it on steam. Air is more forgiving that steam.
It is complete, except for the original box that is missing.
Most of the components are original Weeden, including the original burner tray and the original little funnel (which is rare).
The burner tray has NOT been tested.
Parts that are not original :
- the Weeden label (reproduction),
- the governor base (photos).

LIVING ESTATE SALE DETAILS :
I had my first steam engine when I was 9 years old. That was 67 years ago. I have been collecting them for 25 years and I am now 76.
None of my descendants is interested in the collection, so I decided that it was time to liquidate.
As of September 2026, I still have over 500 engines of all kinds to list. I believe in full disclosure. It takes me about an hour to list one item, between the assessment, the testing, the video, the photos, the description and the very careful packaging.
I try to have very reasonable prices. At comparable quality, my prices are probably the lowest on the market.
