1897 United Kingdom QUEEN VICTORIA Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Silver Medal

Issued by the Royal Mint in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee (60th Anniversary of the Reign) of Queen Victoria (1837–1897).
Designed by Thomas Brock (obverse) and utilizing William Wyon’s iconic 1837 portrait (reverse),
this official national issue contrasts Victoria’s young head at her accession with her veiled portrait at her 60-year milestone.

Obverse: Left-facing veiled bust ("Old Head" portrait) of Queen Victoria wearing a tiara, veil, pearl necklace, and imperial orders.

Reverse: Left-facing young head portrait of Queen Victoria as she appeared at her accession in 1837, set above crossed laurel branches.

Condition - XF / AU great toning.
