Five sterling silver coins paying tribute to those that have shaped Australia's national identity.

The Royal Mint first released a Masterpieces in Silver set in 1988 to mark Australia's Bicentennial year, each of the new commemorative coins issued that year were produced in proof silver.

The Masterpieces in Silver series became so popular it is still issued today, largely due to the unique beauty and appeal of the coins when struck in silver.

The 1997 Masterpieces in Silver set included five one-ounce silver coins, each coin honouring an icon that has helped open up the vast Australian continent.

There's also a great deal of historical information to be found on the certificate/brochure in the lid of the presentation case.

Special Note

Unfortunately sometimes the sets we buy have scuffing or damage to the outer cardboard packaging (the shipper) or the presentation case.

The set offered here fits that criteria the coins themselves are OK, but the outer shipper or presentation case is not up to the same standard collectors expect.
