RARE VINTAGE 1920s / 1930s AUTOMOBILE DASHBOARD OIL MILEAGE CLIP REMINDER**
Advertising: "The Eiswerth Company" — Pottsville, Pennsylvania
Up for sale is a phenomenal piece of early American automobilia history. This is an original mechanical dashboard mileage tracker clip distributed as a promotional premium by The Eiswerth Company, which operated a service station at the corner of 3rd and Centre Streets in Pottsville, PA (Gasoline, Oil, and Tires).
Before window stickers existed, drivers clipped this brass-plated meter directly to their vehicle's dashboard or sun visor, or rearview mirror manually spinning the numerical dials with a pin to note when their next oil change was due.
INCREDIBLE SURVIVING COMPONENT:
What makes this piece truly remarkable for collectors is the inclusion of its original paper instruction pocket instructions titled "Setting The Oil Meter" and the original set pin. It includes detailed directions, a graphic of the dial mechanism, and states "(Made in U. S. A.)" and "(Pat. Appl'd For)". Finding these early premium pieces with their fragile original instructional paperwork completely intact is exceptionally rare.
