A particularly distinctive new with tags Harris Tweed blazer, tailored from 100% pure new wool and featuring the specially developed HMY Iolaire commemorative cloth from the Isle of Lewis. The richly textured blue-grey tweed is woven with deep blue and burgundy overchecks creating a characterful Hebridean cloth with considerable depth and unmistakable country character. Cut in a tailored 38R fit with classic notch lapels a three-button front flap pockets and rear vent it combines traditional British styling with genuine Outer Hebridean cloth provenance. The special HMY Iolaire label records the story of this cloth developed by Kenneth Mackenzie Mill in Stornoway to commemorate those lost in the tragic maritime disaster of 1 January 1919. This is a particularly substantial and firmly woven Harris Tweed with a dense structured handle. It is notably more rugged than softer modern tweeds and is best suited to buyers who appreciate traditional heavyweight country cloth.
