Offered is what I believe to be a rare style 1 Schoenhut zebra from the Roosevelt Safari collection.
I am a Schoenhut enthusiast but not an expert.
I did notice however that this zebra looked different in a good way from other Schoenhut zebras especially the head.
Overall good to very good antique condition.
Double jointed neck that will easily move from left to right and up and down.
The base of the body is browner than the circus zebras. Cream colored underbelly.
Open mouth with painted teeth.
Leather ears, cloth mane, rope tail.
***Please note, the right eye has a tiny chip and the left has an even smallerone. I did my best to show this in the last two photos.
Very good working order, the stringing is tight, and it stands and poses easily.
A great addition to your collection!
6.5" tall and 8.5" long.
The Roosevelt Safari Set was released in December of 1909 to celebrate Theodore Roosevelt's real life Safari to Africa to collect specimens for the Smithsonian.
Schoenhut was a very large toy company based in Philadelphia and operated between 1903 and 1935.
Please see all photos to judge the condition for yourself and ask if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
I am always happy to combine ship if you purchase more than one of my items.
