This tobacco "card" is really a 16 page booklet that is part of a 50 piece set, Histories of Poor Boys. Each booklet details the life of a famous personage of the period. This set was released by Duke's Cigarettes in 1888 and mirrors a similar set of Civil War generals that they also issued around that time.

I am selling six very special cards from the Poor Boys set this week, a group of particularly important people whose cards also carry a premium from the average example. This card is of Sarah Bernhardt, the greatest actress of her day, and perhaps of all time.
