Selected Surirella cornis diatoms from Samoa, by professional slide-maker Eduard Thum (1847-1926). He mounted three specimens of S. cornis at different angles, enabling examination of structural details. The specimens are arranged between two large discoid diatoms, which are visible without a microscope and serve as guides for placing the slide on your microscope. Includes a bonus star-shaped diatom!
The slide has a secondary retail label from Watson & Sons. It lacks "Ltd.", indicating sale before ca. 1905.
