| π Description | Chinese Agate Snuff Bottle of rounded form, carved with opposing raised Beast Mask handles at the shoulders. The stone displays a rich translucent caramel-brown tone with natural darker inclusions and soft cloudy banding typical of Agate. The bottle retains its domed Red Coral stopper with internal spoon, and is finished with a neatly formed foot and smooth polished surface. Collectorβs Notes: Snuff Bottles from the Qing Dynasty were both functional and highly collectible miniature artworks. Pieces carved from Agate are especially prized for their organic color variations and tactile appeal. The Beast Mask motif reflects traditional protective symbolism, while original stoppers enhance desirability. Examples from the 19th Century remain sought after for their craftsmanship and display quality. |
