A rarely-seen microscope slide by Nehemiah Burgess (1820-1901). Nehemiah was an avid microscopist and a member/officer of the Quekett Microscopcal Club. Notably, he was the father of John William Burgess, a man who Brian Bracegirdle proposed to have been the maker of slides bearing the initials "JWB" (Microscopical Mounts and Mounters, page 58). J.W. Burgess actually had limited interest in microscopy, and was a member of QMC for only a few years. The maker of "J.W.B." labeled microscope slides was James William Bond.

The slide is a dry-mount of snowdrop anthers and pollen.
