NOTE: SAGER WAS MERGED WITH BARROWS AND THEN THE COMPANY WAS PURCHASED BY YALE. AFTER THAT YALE CONTINUED TO MANUFACTURE THE 630 UNDER THE YALE BRAND BUT THE LOCK IS IDENTICAL TO ALL THREE BRAND NAMES: SAGER, BARROWS AND YALE.
Vintage: Remanufactured #630, this one was manufactured under the YALE brand but the same exact lock was also manufactured by the SAGER LOCK CO and by BARROWS. Yale eventually owneed both Barrows and Sager. This Yale set is circa 1930-1940. Comes with a new old stock SUPERIOR brass cylinder with two new keys, works perfectly.
Large and heavy faceplate with plate, body of the face clearly maker marked 'YALE', one of America's many manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 20th Century. Has post hole for a thumb lock for the inside of the door, lock is reversible.
Dimensions as follows:
FUNCTIONALITY: The lock is designed to work with a thumb press handle from the outside and with a turn knob from the inside. It works perfectly and all accessories are included.
DOOR KNOCKER: An exterior two piece door knocker that mataches the pull handle is included with the set.
BACKSET: The backset (the distance from the front edge of the faceplate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
INTERIOR BACKPLATE: The brass interior backplate includes the thumb turn knob that throws the dead bolt to lock and unlock the door from the inside. The brass door knob is also include along with the door knob post.
DROP: The drop (the distance from the center of the key cylinder hole to the center of the knob post hole is 4 1/16".
BOX: Box is 3 1/2" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 7/8" top to bottom.
SCREWS: Screws are on 7" centers.
KNOB POST SHAFT: Has a 5/16" knob post hole allowing for a 5/16" split post knob shaft, the post is included in the set.
Completely rebuilt inside and out. Very clean, no rust, functions very well, heavy duty and with keys!
