Here for sale is a great antique scrapbook fan, featuring an impressive array of 160 tiny insignias, monograms, and flag motifs. It dates to the 1870-1880s era & comes fresh from an excellent Rochester, NY estate collection.
Crafted from lightweight hardwood & printed paper, with fine printing, a two-sided design, handpainted gold accents, and superb craftsmanship throughout. It measures 9 1/2" high by 16 1/4" wide when opened.
The fan is in overall fine to good condition for its age, with flaws including mild toning, gentle surface wear, two tiny repairs to the silk ribbon, and a small missing bit to the very edge of one stick (only visible to one side).
The fan has been carefully stored by the previous owner. It is clean & ready for use or display. A splendid antique fan that will make a fabulous addition to any fine collection.
