Vintage 1979-1981 Morris W-50 T.F.
Series Acoustic Guitar B. Rosewood Body w/Hardcase Made in Japan You're looking at a very good working condition, Japan-made high-quality vintage acoustic guitar. The Morris W-50 is a highly regarded vintage Japanese acoustic guitar from the late 1970s to early 1980s. According to the original Morris catalog, the W-50 was produced from 1979 to 1981 and had an original retail price of ¥50,000 at the time. The W-50 features a traditional dreadnought body without a cutaway, providing a powerful and resonant acoustic character with excellent volume and projection. According to the original catalog specifications, the 1979-1981 W-50 features a spruce plywood top and a distinctive three-piece back constructed from Rosewood plywood / Chestnut plywood / Rosewood plywood. The sides are also made of Beautiful Rosewood plywood, creating a beautiful and distinctive appearance throughout the body. This combination of B. Rosewood and Chestnut in the three-piece back is one of the most attractive features of the W-50 and gives this model a particularly unique appearance among vintage Japanese acoustic guitars. The neck is made of mahogany and is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard. The position markers are beautiful hexagon-shaped Mexican abalone inlays, which were used on the W-50 from 1978 through 1981. The guitar is equipped with die-cast tuning machines and a rosewood bridge, while the original catalog specifies light-gauge strings as the standard setup. The W-50 was positioned as a mid-grade model in the Morris lineup, but its traditional construction, attractive tonewoods, and excellent craftsmanship make it a very appealing vintage Japanese acoustic guitar today. The dreadnought body produces a rich and warm tone with excellent volume and projection. I have played and sold many Morris acoustic guitars in my store, and I was particularly impressed by the sound of this W-50. In my opinion, the late-1970s to early-1980s Morris guitars represent some of the best values among vintage Japanese acoustic guitars. They offer excellent Japanese craftsmanship, attractive vintage styling, and very enjoyable sound at a relatively accessible price. The 1979-1981 specification is particularly interesting for collectors because this period used B. Rosewood plywood for both the sides and the outer layers of the three-piece back. This guitar comes with a hard case. In addition, this guitar comes with the original Morris warranty card from the time, as well as the original maintenance kit. Both items are in remarkably clean and well-preserved condition, which is quite unusual for a vintage guitar of this age. These original accessories are valuable items in their own right and make this guitar particularly appealing to collectors and vintage Morris enthusiasts. Finding a W-50 from this period with its original warranty card and maintenance kit in such beautiful condition is quite rare. Please check out the movie for guitar sound detail guitar condition.
