Unusual vintage UK-bound Silver Age DC Comics volume containing 15 original US DC comics, bound together with a red cloth spine and original DC covers to the front and rear.

A fascinating and seemingly very scarce period remainder-bound volume. The front cover is Mystery in Space #82 and the rear cover is The Brave and the Bold #42 featuring Hawkman. Both of these issues are also present coverless within the volume.

The book contains coverless copies of:

All are original Silver Age DC comics rather than modern reproductions, bound together into a substantial cloth-spined volume.

The exact publisher/binder has not been identified. Similar UK publications were produced using remaindered US DC comics during the 1960s, but this unusually large 15-comic format does not appear to correspond to the more commonly documented six-comic annuals. It is therefore being described conservatively as a vintage UK remainder-bound DC Comics volume rather than attributed to a particular publisher.

An unusual survivor and an intriguing piece of British/American comic distribution history, containing an excellent selection of Silver Age DC material including JLA, Flash, Hawkman, Green Lantern, Atom, Superman and Adam Strange.

Please see photographs carefully for the condition of the binding, covers and contents.

The comics form part of the original bound volume and have not been removed or separated.

Check out my other listings for more rare comics. Experienced seller, I ship internationally.

How I ship books: All books are bagged and boarded and sent out well-protected in gemini mailers. Shipping for UK or international orders is via Royal Mail tracked. I also combine shipping.

Grading: I add my subjective grade to every listing - I believe knowing how to grade is important, especially when it comes to collectables - I’ve been learning about grading for over thirty years, and there is always more to learn. It’s also worth noting that there is a difference between traditional comic book grading and CGC grading, so if you’re buying raw comics for the purpose of sending to CGC, you will need to become familiar with CGC grading. If you would like to learn more about grading, and see examples of each grade, I would recommend reading Overstreet’s grading standards (also look up eta nick comic book grading videos).

I use old school grading terminology, which equates to:
