#2 HINKS DUPLEX BURNER + BRASSWARE


This listing is for a British Victorian fount with #2 Hinks double wick/duplex burner with 4" shade gallery, collar & undermount.  

Clear founts are quite versatile.  With or without the addition of coloured lamp oil they can be paired with a variety of coloured shades. 

This fount is in better than excellent original condition. It has a good even high gloss with no chips, cracks or fleabites.  It has a number of exceptionally fine scratches which would have resulted from dusting/cleaning. 

All of the many facets and cuts, with the exception of one, are damage free.  One facet has a rough patch/nibbles which had me baffled until I fitted the burner.  I now suspect from the positioning of the burner that someone wearing a ring has used the wick winder and brushed/knocked the ring against the high point of the cut with the ring.

There are a couple of minute and one small unbroken air bubble. The largest is in the bottom face. 

The original high quality bayonet fit brass #2 Hinks burner is in excellent condition. It shows negligible signs of wear/use and has been dismantled and cleaned with new wicks added.  All chimney prongs are present and damage free. The wick winder/wicks move freely.  The ceramic wick winder button is glossy and damage free although it is slightly discoloured due to age. 

There is a small area to the gallery which has been pushed in slightly which, if you are strong enough in the hands, can be bent back into place.  It is not particularly noticeable and once the shade is added it will not be noticeable. 

The original Hinks bayonet collar is in excellent condition. I have replaced the cork due to it having been badly degraded. 

The fount under-mount is in immaculate condition.

Items which need extra attention/care (antiques, glass, delicate/fragile etc.) may require double boxing and therefore may cost more than the displayed shipping charges. The handling charge is to cover the cost of packaging etc.   I use recycled packaging as much as possible.
